Washington Kids Academy Opens
The Washington Kids Academy officially opened on Monday, March 13th. To celebrate, a ribbon cutting took place on Saturday, March 18, 2017, preceded by a “Green Eggs and Ham” breakfast for the WKA staff and friends. This new business in Washington, located at 26 Washington Plaza, has the goal to encourage a love of learning, to build confidence, and to prepare children for school and beyond. Many gathered for the ribbon cutting, including owner Raymond Poe, Executive Director Lindsey Jenkins, and Mayor Gary Manier. They were joined by a large number of WKA kids and family members as well as the following chamber representatives: Jim Culotta, City of Washington; Gail Nettles, Washington Chamber of Commerce; Jon Oliphant, City of Washington; Ginger Nye, CEFCU; and Scott Hassett, Morningside of Washington. Sentimental Journey celebrates 35 years on Washington Square
